With complementary degrees in Acting and Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature, my writing resists a singular style, form, and basic sense of cohesion in favor of a more bricolage approach. Basically…
i write plays.
i also write pieces of cultural analysis and critique. mostly about theater.
sometimes i just scribble things in my notes app and post them on instagram and call it a day.
My work is unified by my specific, weird voice and enduring questions about contemporary queer life, the queer life that preceded it, labor consciousness, daddy issues, and the future of the American Theater. Just like… normal stuff, mostly.
I’m interested in continuing to develop my voice and craft as a playwright while also producing essays, articles, and other writing that probes, challenges, and imagines a richer cultural future.
bricolage
(in art or literature) construction or creation from a diverse range of available things.
construction (as of a sculpture or a structure of ideas) achieved by using whatever comes to hand.
